Selection Process

The Officers will be elected, and the Committee Chairs will be appointed by the officers. The timeline for selection of Committee Chairs will be announced after the officers have been elected and will occur in mid-May.

Selection Timeline
* If you are interested in running, come by for an informational meeting with the current executive board on Tuesday, April 8th or Wednesday, April 9th at 5:00pm in the Multicultural Involvement & Community Advocacy Office (1120 Stamp).
* Applications for officer positions are due by midnight on Monday, April 21st - NO exceptions.
* Elections Meeting will be held on Monday, April 28th at 6:00pm in the Jimenez Room, Stamp Student Union. All candidates will deliver an individual 5-minute speech, followed by a question and answer period with other candidates for the position not to exceed 5 minutes per candidate.
* Voting will occur immediately at the Elections Meeting on April 28th and on Tuesday, April 29th, 10:00am-4:00pm in the Multicultural Involvement & Community Advocacy Office (1120 Stamp).
* Elections results will be announced on Wednesday, April 30th at 5:00pm in the Asian American Student Union office at 0208K Stamp Student Union. Results will be posted on www.aasu-umcp.org after the announcements.
* Applications for Chair positions are due by 5:00pm on Friday, May 9th.
* Transition Meeting, mandatory for all outgoing and incoming executive board members: late May or early June
